“Smallville” will take a two-month break starting this week and when it returns on January 22, it will bring along the Justice Society of America (JSA). The episode called “Disciple” sees Clark getting the help he needs much to save the world from the grasp of General Zod.

JSA is comprised of several superheroes such as Hawkman, Stargirl, Doctor Fate, Atom and Spectre but only three out of them have had their actors announced. Brent Stait is playing Dr. Fate, while Britt Irvin is in the shoes of Stargirl. Meanwhile, the actor to play Hawkman, whose first look has been shared, will be Michael Shanks.
Hawkman in particular won’t get along with Green Arrow as Justin Hartley put it, “They have completely different views on just about everything you can imagine. Hawkman has this sort of antiquated, conservative point of view, while Oliver is the ‘liberal bleeding heart’. Together, they are a match made in hell.”
Also, the bad guy version of Green Arrow will be introduced in “Disciple”. Steve Bacic plays Dark Archer who, in the comic, is actually the former mentor of Green Arrow. Saying that it would be “interesting” encounter between the two, Hartley said Bacic is “a really good-looking guy, but when they did him up with the beard and this black costume, he becomes a gnarly, menacing dude.”
On another “Smallville” news, EW has reported that Brian Austin Green will reprise his role as Metallo who appeared in the first two episodes of the season. Although he died in the second episode after accidentally ripping off his artificial heart, Metallo will be back in episode 18 of the season.

On a season seven episode of Smallville, Chloe imagined herself with a fiance. The character was played by Carlo Marks.
Now, Entertainment Weekly reports that Marks is returning to The CW hit as Steven Swift (aka Warrior Angel), a new love interest for Chloe.
Is this just coincidental casting? Or does it reveal something about the show and this storyline? Take some time to ponder those questions. Smallville has not yet announced an air date for Marks’ appearance.

Next on “Smallville“, Tess kidnaps Lois to find out where Lois went after she disappeared for weeks. Lois’ memory of the future depicts a Metropolis under Zod’s rule and Clark powerless under the red sun, while Chloe forms a resistance group with Oliver. After learning of these future events, Clark makes an important decision about Zod.

Called “Pandora“, the episode will air on Friday, November 20 as the last episode of the Fall run. Executive Producer Brian Peterson gave an insight to the episode, saying “…we get our glimpse of what the future would be if Zod gets his way on earth. So you will see him interacting with more and more characters as the season unfolds, for sure.”
Meanwhile, Cassidy Freeman who plays Tess said that her character indeed has a big role on the episode. “You know, Lois has been having these flashes ever since the beginning of the season and I figure that out,” she told Newsarama.com. “And I really want to know what they mean and what they’re from and how to decipher them. So that’s why I kidnap her. To try to figure that out.”
“I think that it has something to do with the Kryptonians, and I think it has something to do with the Kandorians, and I think it has something to do with all these questions that I have. And if I can figure that out, maybe I can put the puzzle together.”

I’ve got some big news for all my Super friends out there.
I’m hearing The CW has decided to package Smallville’s upcoming (and highly-anticipated) Justice Society-themed two-parter into a two-hour movie event airing on Jan. 29.
The Geoff Johns-penned episodes — titled “Society” and “Legends” and featuring such DC Comics stalwarts as Stargirl, Hawkman, and Dr. Fate — were originally designed to air separately. But, according to Smallville insiders, CW execs felt they could get more mileage out of combining them.
I tend do agree. Do you? Sound off in the comments!

Smallville’s coolness quotient just soared to new heights.
Blaxploitation icon-turned-L-Word staple Pam Grier is joining the cast for multiple episodes, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Grier has been booked to play DC Comics villainess Agent Amanda Waller. Never heard of her? This should bring you up to speed.
The Golden Globe nominated actress (for Jackie Brown) will make her debut in the second hour of the upcoming Justice Society-centric two-parter, “Legends,” scheduled to air in late January.

All new in “Smallville“, there is an imposter of The Blur trying to handle crimes in a messy way. Superhero twins Zan and Jayna show up in Metropolis to help The Blur fight crime but end up botching several rescues, landing Clark in hot water with the District Attorney’s office. Clark decides to come forward as The Blur to clear his name.

The Wonder Twins are the DC Comics superheroes who get their power if they touch hands and say “Wonder Twins Power Activate!“. In the comic version, Zan can transform into water while Zayna can shape shift into any kind of animal. The show cast non-sibling actors David Gallagher to play Zan and Allison Scagliotti to play Zayna.
Not only focusing on the twins, the November 13 episode will also see a progress in Clark and Lois’ relationship. “So over the course of the season she’s falling even harder for Clark while still having that kind of pang of interest and mystery in this guy called The Blur,” exec producer Brian Peterson said. “Everyone needs to watch episode eight which is called ‘Idol’ and Lois finally goes to therapy to deal with this issue. Lois in therapy is something everyone needs to watch.”
On another “Smallville” news, the show will welcome back Serinda Swan to reprise her role as Zatanna. “There was always the hint that she might return one day, so I was keeping my fingers crossed,” Swan told TV Guide Magazine. “I love the cast and I really like the character.” So far, the plan is to put her in early 2010 episode called “Warrior“.

The CW has released two new clips for the upcoming episode of Smallville, and it looks as though it’s more exciting than last week’s Clois liplock. Well, “Kandor” marks Julian Sands’ first appearance on the series as Jor-El. What’s more, he’s going face-to-face with Callum Blue’s villainous Zod, who’s hungry for some superpowers of his own.
On “Kandor,” Jor-El arrives at the Kent farm looking for his son. However, Clark (Tom Welling) is occupied elsewhere so the newcomer meets Chloe instead. Unfortunately for them, Zod’s on the lookout for the Blur and he thinks it’s Jor-El.
Zod then asks help from Tess (Cassidy Freeman) in the search for the Blur. An encounter sizzles between him and Jor-El, which leads Clark to race back to Earth to find his father. That is, before Zod does.
Below’s the trailer for the Smallville episode “Kandor,” and one of the most exciting scenes here is Clark holding Tess up by the throat, forcing her to reveal the whereabouts of Jor-El.
The trailer’s not the only surprise that the CW has for the upcoming Smallville installment. Below, you can find another clip from “Kandor.” In it, Tess is on the phone as though blackmailing someone. She later meets Zod, who is staring at the iconic ‘S’ on a sheet on the street.
Tess discusses her plans with Zod, and in some twisted way the two have a certain chemistry that makes you doubt Clark and Lois’. Then again, the image of supervillains being paired that way is undeniably creepy.
Oh well, just as long as these two get their job done. Or not, because that would mean Jor-El ends up in their clutches. Here’s the video anyway.
Don’t forget to catch the new episode of Smallville, titled “Kandor” as it airs on Friday at 8pm on the CW.

The episode of “Smallville” where Jor-El finally appears in person will be airing next week. Portrayed by Julian Sands, the father of Kal-El arrives at the Kent farm in search of his son but meets Chloe instead. Clark realizes Jor-El is alive and on Earth and races to find him before Zod does.

Convinced the Blur is Jor-El, Zod enlists Tess’ help in finding him to force him to reveal the secret to his powers. On the preview, Clark is seen confronting Tess to the point that he holds her up in the air by the neck. Titled “Kandor“, the episode is airing on November 6.
Jor-El was previously only featured as voice. Actor Terence Stamp had been providing voice for the character since 2003 and was last heard in this season’s episode called “Echo“.

Stargate and Smallville fans alike went crazy when the news broke that Michael Shanks would be appearing as the beloved winged DC Comic Book character, Hawkman. Twitter has been abuzz with speculation about his appearance, and how the character would be handled. As a comic book and
Stargate fan, I was thrilled to hear the news.
I just got a chance to speak to Shanks about playing this iconic character. He gives details about the costume, Hawkman’s interaction with Clark Kent and Dr. Fate, whether or not his character may appear later in the season and which version of Hawkman he’ll be playing.
OK, I have to jump right in to your guest appearance as Hawkman on Smallville because everyone is freaking out about it. I know you can’t tell me a lot, but what can you tell me?
Well, I think the cat’s out of the proverbial bag, but a few characters from the Justice Society are showing up in Smallville this season, in an episode which has now been turned into a two-parter. “Society” is directed by Glen Winter, and the second part, “Legends” is directed by Tom Welling. And both written by Geoff Johns, who is the famous comic book writer who also gave rebirth in the DC Universe to the character I’m playing, Hawkman. So what can I tell you about the plot line? Hmm.
