The CW has provided fans of “Smallville” with the clip from the first episode of season 9. Oliver is involved in some kind of underground fight and Lois penetrates the place to seek his help. She tells him that a woman has been following her, but shortly later the talked-about figure shows up only to lure Clark out of the hiding.
Clark decides that he is ready to start his training at the Fortress, but Jor-El insists that he returns to Metropolis to cut his ties with Lois before he begins. Lois reappears in the city with no recollection of vanishing, and her investigation into a monorail crash brings her into contact with a new reporter named John Corben who is opposed to the Red and Blue Blur.
Meanwhile, Chloe’s friendship with Clark deteriorates when he refuses to use the Legion ring to save Jimmy. Oliver turns down a dark path, and Zod makes his entrance at the Luthor mansion.
The season premiere is titled “Savior” and will air on September 25. New characters in this season are particularly a lot. The villains come in the form of General Zod and Metallo while the heroes include The Wonder Twins, Speedy and Justice League Society of America.
There was a new trailer of “Smallville” being aired during the series premiere of “The Vampire Diaries“. The trailer, although short, gives a brief glimpse of Clark in his Superman suit watching over everyone in the city from the high tower. It also highlights on how people never see him in person but Lois can sense his presence.
Entering its ninth season, “Smallville” will come back to the TV screen on September 25 with episode “Savior”. Clark tells Jor-El he’s ready to start his training, but Jor-El sends him back to Metropolis to cut ties with Lois before he can begin. Chloe is shocked when Lois suddenly reappears after having been missing for weeks, but Lois has no recollection of vanishing into thin air with the Legion ring.
While investigating a monorail crash, Lois meets John Corben (guest star Brian Austin Green), a new reporter at The Daily Planet, with a negative attitude toward the Red-Blue Blur. Chloe begs Clark to use the Legion ring to go back in time to save Jimmy, but he refuses, driving a wedge into their friendship. Meanwhile, Oliver continues down a dark road, and Zod arrives at the Luthor mansion.
Rokk Krinn (Cosmic Boy from the Legion) travels back from the future at the beginning of the episode to meet with Clark. He tells Clark that he hopes he is not too late, also admitting that every time the Legion travels through time, they take the chance of disrupting fate. - While Brainiac was defeated in the Legion’s previous visit, there’s someone else who no longer exists… Clark is gone too. “When you saved Chloe’s life, you saved her connection to Doomsday,” Rokk warns. “She stopped you from sending him to the Phantom Zone; she made him invulnerable by trying to kill him with kryptonite. And now, because of Chloe, you cannot defeat him.” - Clark tells Rokk that he’d never take back his choice to save Chloe. - Rokk gives Clark a new Legion ring and tells him to use it to send Doomsday to the future, where the Legion is ready and prepared to fight him. - Clark tells Rokk that his father always told him that he was sent to Earth to save mankind. “Maybe this is my true destiny,” he says. - Rokk warns Clark that “tomorrow is the day you die.”
The Grim Reaper is about to make an unwelcome pit stop in Smallville, and, if I’m not mistaken, the blockbuster trailer The CW cut together for the May 14 season finale comes very close to identifying at least one of the victims. I could be wrong. Don’t think I am though. Watch the latest episode of Ausiello TV and judge for yourself (hint: it features an exclusive first look at said trailer.
