Archive for Hawkman
Being pre-empted for “Hope for Haiti” telethon this week, “Smallville” teases the highly-anticipated “Absolute Justice” episode which will now air on February 5. The clip gives a closer look of Hawkman and the rest of Justice Society of America members when Clark discovers the place they used to gather.

A man named Sylvester Pemberton tracks down Chloe and tells her he knows about her team of superheroes and needs their help. However, before he can explain who he is, he is attacked and killed by Icicle (guest star Wesley Wesley MacInnes).
Clark and Chloe’s investigation leads Clark to the former headquarters of the Justice Society of America where he meets up with Nelson aka Dr. Fate (guest star Brent Stait), Carter Hall aka Hawkman (guest star Michael Shanks) and Courtney aka Star Girl (guest star Britt Irvin). Courtney pleads with Hawkman and Dr. Fate to help her catch the killer that is targeting their group but they are reluctant to resume their duties as superheroes.
Clark, John Jones (guest star Phil Morris), Green Arrow and Chloe team up to help the JSA stop Icicle before he murders another member of the group. Meanwhile, Lois receives a package from a mysterious agency called Checkmate, run by Amanda Waller (guest star Pam Grier).
Before “Absolute Justice” goes on air, there will be another episode called “Disciple” airing on Friday, January 29.
Michael Ausiello has posted on EW.com some first pictures of the Justice Society appearance in Smallville. A photo of Hawkman had already been released which admittedly I thought was a gag. Now we have another photo of Hawkman laying the smack down on Green Arrow and a picture of Doctor Fate and Stargirl to boot.
Once again Geoff Johns shows his subject matter expertise. In the comics, Hawkman had conservative tendencies while Green Arrow had liberal ones, so they tended to not get along unless a supervillain showed up when they would team up to stop him or her.
These sort of costumes are a step away from the “no tights no flights” rule that was there since the beginning of Smallville. Perhaps their appearance is marking a policy change for the show. Of course, once Clark puts on the cape and takes flight, the show is pretty much done.
No longer will Smallville be burdened with two-part episodes known as “Society” and “Legends,” because the powers that be have granted them an entire movie. This season, the hit CW series will be thrilling the fans with the two-hour special now known as Smallville: Absolute Justice.
According to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello, the network decided to scrap their plans of leaving the viewers hanging with the separate installments. The title of the upcoming TV film has just been released, along with the excited emotions of Smallville die-hards.
It was reported earlier that the Justice Society-themed episodes have made it as a movie event for
the network. Now, everything looks good to go except for the schedule. Smallville: Absolute Justice was supposedly airing on January 29, but the date has been changed to the 5th of February.
There’s definitely a lot to be giddy about, in addition to the return of your regular cast. This TV movie marks the debut of several guest stars on the show, from Michael Shanks as Hawkman to Brent Stait as Dr. Fate.
Geoff Johns penned the episodes “Society” and “Legends” originally, and combining these two will surely be a treat for both fans and the CW execs. Ausiello has also reported that Smallville: Absolute Justice will be having just one set of credits. Why that still needs mentioning, we’re not really sure. The point is that there’s going to be a Smallville movie, and that it has a cool title.
The array of guest stars also includes Britt Irvin as Stargirl and Phil Morris as Martian Manhunter, but there might just be more to come. We mentioned before that the veteran actress Pam Grier’s going to make an appearance, so this is one event you can’t miss. She’s going to play the villainous Amanda Waller, for crying out loud.
Again, mark your calendars for Smallville: Absolute Justice as it airs on February 5 next year on the CW.
